Recently, I installed Steam after a clean Mint Xfce installation, and for some reasons the steam icon did not show up on the tray. Then I realized all I need to do is simply install the library for passing menus over DBus. 😳
sudo apt install libdbusmenu-gtk4:i386
Done!
